Finding kosher soups on Amazon is easy; knowing which ones to trust takes a little label-reading. A soup that looks simple can hide meat or dairy ingredients, uncertified flavorings or, at Passover, chametz, so the kosher symbol, the meat, pareve or dairy marking and the Passover status all matter. This guide gathers the most popular kosher soups and soup helpers on Amazon: matzo ball soups, chicken broths and soup bases, soup mixes, mandlen and croutons, noodles, barley and lentils, and instant noodle soup cups for a quick lunch. Many of the products carry kosher for Passover certification, which makes this a handy list for the Seder table, and our guide to kosher for Passover soups and mixes goes deeper on Pesach. Whether you are simmering chicken soup for Shabbat, stocking the pantry for the cold months or packing a gluten-free lunch, you will find a place to start below. The Kosher Hub is not a Kosher Authority, so always check the symbol on the pack you receive.
🥣 Matzo Ball Soups
Three Manischewitz classics, ready to cook.

Manischewitz Reduced Sodium Matzo Ball Soup
Matzo ball soup with reduced sodium, kosher for Passover.
View ProductMatzo ball soup is the dish most people mean when they search for kosher soups, and all three of these come from Manischewitz. We chose a chicken version, the traditional classic and a reduced-sodium option so there is a pick for every table. All three are certified kosher for Passover, so they suit the Seder and any Friday night the rest of the year. Check the pack for its meat, pareve or dairy marking before planning the rest of the meal, and if your family avoids gebrokts (matzo that has absorbed liquid), follow your own custom at Passover. For more Pesach choices, see our guide to kosher for Passover soups and mixes.

🍲 Chicken Broths and Soup Bases
The flavor foundation for every pot of soup.

EDITOR'S PICK
Chicken Broth (4-Pack)
A multi-pack of chicken broth for stocking the pantry. It is also the hydrating base we suggest for the pre-fast meal on Yom Kippur.
View Product →Broth is where every pot of soup starts, so it is worth choosing carefully. The clear chicken broth, the Manischewitz reduced-sodium broth and the onion soup base are all certified kosher for Passover, which makes them useful year-round as well as at Pesach. Use them as the liquid for a simple soup, or to add depth to rice, vegetables and kugels. The four-pack is our editor's pick for everyday stocking, and it features in our Yom Kippur break fast and pre-fast ideas. Broths carry their own meat, pareve or dairy marking, so read it on the pack before you cook.
Before you head back to the soup pot, take a look at our own designs. These are print-on-demand gifts and holiday items created by The Kosher Hub and sold in our Etsy shop, and the selection below changes with the Jewish calendar so there is always something ready for the next occasion.

Three familiar favorites, ready to heat.

Ready-to-serve soups are the easiest way to put a kosher bowl on the table, and Manischewitz is one of the most familiar names for them. We chose a mushroom barley, a chicken noodle and a low sodium borscht because they are the soups many families grew up with. These are everyday kosher soups rather than Passover products, so they are for the other fifty weeks of the year; our Passover picks follow below. Check the pack for its meat, pareve or dairy marking before you plan the rest of the meal.

🧅 Soup Mixes
Quick soups for busy weeknights.

Manischewitz Gluten Free Noodle Soup Mix
A gluten free noodle soup mix, kosher for Passover.
View Product

Soup mixes earn their place in the pantry on busy nights, when you want something warm without a long simmer. The gluten free noodle soup mix is a rare find for households avoiding wheat, Goodman's onion mix works in a bowl or as a dip, and the matzo ball and soup mix handles the whole Seder-style starter in one go. Each is certified kosher for Passover, so it is as useful in April as it is in January. Because mixes can be meat, pareve or dairy, check the marking on the pack before serving one beside the main course.
🥖 Matzo Balls, Mandlen and Croutons
Make your own matzo balls and finish the bowl with a crunch.

Homemade matzo balls are the heart of a good bowl, and a matzo ball mix keeps the method simple and the results reliable. Mandlen, also called soup nuts, are small crunchy pieces dropped in at the last moment, and Haddar's gluten free mini croutons give the same crunch without wheat. We paired them because they finish the bowl the way many families expect it. At Passover, only certified mandlen and croutons are suitable, since ordinary croutons are made from bread.
🍜 Noodles for Chicken Soup
Egg noodles and gluten free noodles for the pot.

No one argues with a bowl of chicken soup full of egg noodles, and Manischewitz offers two egg noodle styles here plus a gluten free medium noodle for anyone avoiding wheat. We chose them because they are the noodles families already reach for when the soup comes to the table. Cook noodles separately and add them to each bowl so the broth stays clear. These are everyday noodles rather than Passover products; if you are shopping for Pesach, see our guide to kosher for Passover egg noodles, or browse the best kosher noodles on Amazon for more shapes.

FEATURED PICK
Gefen Instant Noodle Soup, Hearty Chicken Flavored
A hearty chicken-flavored instant noodle soup, our featured pick for a fast, filling lunch at the desk or on the go.
View Product →Instant soup cups are the quickest way to get a hot kosher lunch, and Gefen is one of the best-known kosher names for them. The range here covers a classic cup, a vegetable version, a creamy mushroom cup, two gluten free options and a 12-pack of chicken flavor for stocking the office or school bag, with the hearty chicken-flavored cup as our featured pick. Even when a soup is chicken flavored or creamy, the marking on the pack tells you whether it is meat, pareve or dairy, so check it before serving a cup alongside a meat or dairy meal. These are year-round kosher products rather than Passover items.
🌾 Barley, Lentils and Beans

Rani Masoor Dal (Indian Red Lentils) Split Gram
Split red lentils that cook down into a creamy soup.
View Product

Barley, lentils, split peas and beans turn a thin broth into a full meal, and they are staples of many kosher kitchens. The pearl barley suits classic mushroom barley soup, the red and brown lentils give you a quick, protein-rich pot, and Gefen's split peas, red lentils and pinto beans cover split pea soup and hearty bean soups. We grouped them because they are the dry goods most soup recipes call for. One caution for Passover: barley is one of the five grains and is chametz, while lentils, split peas and beans are kitniyot, which Ashkenazi custom avoids and Sephardi custom generally permits. Our guide on whether lentils are kosher for Passover explains the difference, and our kosher pantry list has more staples to stock.
🍳 Color-Coded Tools for the Soup Pot
Keep meat, pareve and dairy soups apart.

Chicken soup is a meat dish, so it belongs with the red tools; vegetable and bean soups are pareve and sit with the green set; and a cream-based soup would be a dairy dish and use the blue. Color-coding is a simple visual system that helps keep meat and dairy apart in a busy kitchen, which is why we added it to a soup guide. These tools are not kosher certified products (they are simply kosher-kitchen-ready when kept separate), so confirm how to use them with your local Kashrut Authority. For the full range, see the best kosher utensils on Amazon.
🧄 Suggested Soup Ingredients
Salt, pepper and garlic powder to season the pot.

Three seasonings do most of the work in a pot of soup: salt, pepper and garlic powder. Kosher salt dissolves cleanly and is easy to season by taste, black pepper adds warmth at the end, and garlic powder blends into broth without any chopping, which makes it a favorite for chicken soup. We chose Pereg for the pepper and garlic so the pair come from one trusted spice brand. For more choices, see our guides to kosher salt, kosher garlic powder and kosher spices. As ever, check the symbol on the pack you receive.

🔍 What to Look For When Buying Kosher Soups
Read the label before you cook.
- The kosher symbol. A reliable kosher symbol (such as OU, OK, Star-K or Kof-K) on the pack is your starting point. Look for it in the listing photos and again on the pack when it arrives, because certification applies to the specific product.
- Meat, pareve or dairy. Broths, bases and mixes carry their own designation. Chicken soup is a meat dish, vegetable soups are usually pareve and cream soups are dairy, so choose a soup that fits the meal and do not mix meat and dairy.
- Passover certification is separate. A plain kosher symbol does not mean a soup is suitable for Pesach. Look for a Passover symbol such as OU-P, and see our complete Passover food list for more.
- Gluten free is not kosher for Passover. A gluten free label says nothing about Passover. Barley is chametz, and lentils are kitniyot, which many families avoid, so follow your own custom and ask your Rabbi if unsure.
- Sodium and ingredients. Reduced-sodium broths and soups exist, and several are included above. Read the ingredient list for allergens such as wheat, soy and celery, and for anything unfamiliar.
- Storage and freshness. Follow the storage directions on the pack, check dates when it arrives and refrigerate leftovers promptly. Dry mixes and grains keep best in a cool, dry cupboard in a sealed container.
- Use the right pot and tools. Even the best soup can lose its kosher status in the wrong pot. Cook meat soup in a meat pot with meat utensils and keep dairy soups separate, as covered in our color-coded tools section above.
