Kosher for Passover Snacks

Kosher for Passover (KFP) snacks can be a great way to keep things easy during the holiday, but they require extra attention to detail. Always look for a clear and reliable Kosher for Passover certification, as many regular snacks contain chametz (such as wheat, barley, oats, rye, or spelt) or kitniyot, depending on your customs. Even products that seem “safe” like chips, nuts, chocolate, or dried fruit can contain non-KFP oils, starches, flavourings, or processing additives.

Opt for snacks that are specifically labelled for Passover, especially items like potato chips, crackers, chocolates, and candies. Be cautious of seasoning blends, sweet coatings, and anything with “natural flavours,” as these can hide non-compliant ingredients. Avoid regular biscuits, pretzels, and grain-based snacks entirely, as well as anything without certification—even if the ingredients look simple. When in doubt, stick to clearly labelled KFP products or whole foods like plain nuts or fresh fruit that you prepare yourself.
